Landon, a joyful 7th grader at Lakelands Park Middle School in Gaithersburg, celebrated a major milestone this summer after finishing his final round of chemotherapy (video below).
His story was highlighted by The Today Show, as he rang the bell at Children’s National Hospital surrounded by his family, friends, doctors, and nurses who cheered him on over the summer.
Last October, Landon was diagnosed with Stage 4 non-Hodgkin Lymphoma and was immediately admitted to Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C., where he began six rounds of chemotherapy. This forced him to take a six-month leave of absence during his first year of middle school.
After his second round of treatment, his scans were nearly clear, and following his sixth round, they confirmed he was cancer-free. Landon has been in remission since May. Check out Landon on the Today Show below:
