Authentic French Bakery Boulangerie Christophe Prepares to Open First MoCo Location This Month

by MCS Staff

Founded by Christophe Roux, a third-generation baker who grew up near Saint-Tropez on the French Riviera, and his son Benjamin, Boulangerie Chritophe is preparing to open its first Montgomery County.

The newest location will be a new building in Cabin John Village. According to an employee at the Georgetown location, the plan is for the bakery and cafe to open this month (April), but no exact date has been provided.

The first location, in Georgetown, opened in February of 2017.  The first floor of that location is a casual cafe, serving light lunch fare and a wide selection of pastries. The second floor of Boulangerie Christophe is more upscale — and offers can enjoy a sit-down meal in a relaxed atmosphere.

The menu consists of  a variety of coffee (including cappuccino, lates, and more), egg dishes, baked goods, Southern French delicacies, and more.

Per its website:

We are proud to bring a homemade, truly authentic french bakery experience to Georgetown.

All that with the unique vision of providing customers with an experience that emulates the authentic, yet cozy feeling of true cafe dining in Saint-Tropez, south of France. The star of our bakery will be the Baguette (recently elected best Baguette in the US last October 2019), dark and crusty on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside. We will have an assortment of breads at Boulangerie Christophe: from the whole grain, wheat, and sesame, to crunchy white. We also have breads, pastries, croissants and more that will change with every season to keep up with your desires.
