by MCS Staff

The $48 million sale of River View (7979 E. Boulevard Drive in Alexandria, VA)– a 16,000 square foot home with an additional carriage home has set a new record for the most expensive home sale in DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) history, according to the Washington Business Journal.

The home belonged to the former CEO of Lockheed Martin, Robert Stevens, and was first listed a year ago (October 2020) for $60 million.

Listing agent Heather Corey of TTR Sotheby did not name the buyer, but did include that the buyer paid all cash.

The MoCoShow’s real estate expert, Nurit Coombe of The Agency, who has years of experience selling luxury homes said “In our area, these listings are in much demand and we are seeing low inventory and many sales being done off market. Because of this unprecedented demand, record prices are being set, and we are currently seeking luxury properties for our clients.”

According to Biz Journals, “River View’s main home has seven bedrooms, eight full baths and several half baths across four levels, a library, game room, home office, gym with river views; spa with resistance pool, steam and sauna rooms; a 15-seat home theater, and a three-car attached garage — with three electric charging stations. The home is entirely automated, to include all utilities, geothermal heating, security, entertainment systems and backup power.”

The most expensive home on the market in MoCo, is a $14 million listing in Potomac.
