Author Laura Hillenbrand graduated from Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School
Laura Hillenbrand wrote both Seabiscuit: An American Legend, the story of the famous racehorse Seabiscuit, and Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption, the powerful story of Olympian and World War II Prisoner of War Louis Zamperini.
Both nonfiction books have sold more than 13 million copies combined, and were both adapted into major motion pictures.
Hillenbrand was born in Fairfax, VA, and currently resides in Oregon.
