Dutch Family Restaurant, located inside the Lancaster County Dutch Market at 12613 Wisteria Dr. in Germantown, announced Wednesday on their social media pages that they will be closing for the foreseeable future.
Open since 2005, Dutch Family Restaurant is a sit-down, dine-in vendor at the Dutch Market that is known for serving homemade meals from scratch.
Read their statement below:To our dear friends and customers,
This post is the hardest one I’ve ever written for our restaurant. We will be closed for an indefinite period of time starting tomorrow. We did not choose this and remained open for carry out through the first shutdown and once dine in opened we tried to make ends meet with only 9 tables open while bringing back most of our staff. We would love to stay open for you, but each week has continued to be harder financially and while we can’t imagine not opening our doors tomorrow morning, we can’t continue losing money each week. Our plan is to reopen when we can reopen our dining room fully, but will keep you updated if that would happen to change. Thank you to each one of you that has continued to come faithfully to help us keep our doors open.
Let’s all continue to pray for all the people across our country that have been affected by this pandemic through illness, death and the loss of so many small businesses and jobs.

Is the market still open to purchase some of your wonderful foods?
We are deeply saddened by this news and pray God’s blessing on the business and staff that has served us so well for many years. I’ve always recommended the Dutch Family restaurant because of cleanliness, excellent service and great tasting meals. We look forward to a grand reopening in 2021.
