About Catalyst Hot Dogs (menu available in link):

”Owner/operator, Chris Van Jura, has been a member of the Hospitality Industry for nearly 20 years. Over this time he has, on a daily basis, done what every Hospitalian does, which is put the attention and focus on the guest. During this time, he has relocated to the DMV, found love and started a family. He has devoted hundreds of hours to the needs of others—and now, through the pandemic and two furloughs, he has made a choice: We’re getting into the Hot Dog business!”

Silver Spring

Walking to Fenton Village is easy for the many residents that live in the adjacent single-family neighborhoods and the many multi-family communities throughout downtown. It is equally accessible to the many businesses throughout the rest of downtown and the Takoma Park / Silver Spring campus of the Montgomery County College. Many buses provide transit access to and through Fenton Village. The WMATA Red Line is only three blocks away. And the future Purple Line will have a station in Fenton Village, at the Silver Spring Library.

Parking in the area abounds. There is one parking garage in the middle of Fenton Village, and three other garages within easy walking distance. On-street parking is also plentiful. Fenton Village has something for everyone. It is a place to bring family and friends, connect with local businesses, and enjoy a truly unique experience.

Maryland

McCormick & Company, makers of Old Bay, have teamed up with McClintock Distilling in Frederick, MD to create an Old Bay flavored vodka.  According to Old Bay, the vodka is six times distilled for maximum purity and smoothness and perfectly highlights the quintessential flavor of the iconic Old Bay spice blend.

The 35% ABV vodka is scheduled to hit shelves in the middle of this month and is expected to retail for $19.99.

Rockville

Starting today and running through Saturday, Carmen’s Italian Ice at 1115 Nelson St in Rockville is doing their annual “Pay the Price of the Weather” promotion. Whatever the temperature is outside, that’s the price of a small Italian ice (you can substitute gelati for an extra dollar.)

While obviously not a huge money maker for the store, Carmen’s owner Jason Mandler tells us the promotion is a nice treat for their diehards fans and something fun to do during the off-season, when people don’t typically have frozen treats on their mind.

Beyond MoCo

Lil’ Cakes & Creamery at 488 N. Frederick Ave in Gaithersburg will be opening up a second location in Urbana, MD.

The new store will be located at 3272 Bennett Creek Avenue, Unit A, part of the brand new shopping center that is already home to Chipotle, Dominos, and Jersey Mike’s.
