Hope Grows Child Development Center To Take Old Gold’s Gym Space in Fox Chapel Shopping Center in Germantown

Hope Grows Child Development Center has selected Fox Chapel Shopping Center as the children’s daycare and educational facility’s third location in the Montgomery County, Maryland region. Founded and owned by Salema Horn, the group signed a lease with Fox Chapel, LLC for 10,803 square feet of space within the 115,000 square foot neighborhood shopping center positioned at 19721 North Frederick Road in Germantown. Craig Kates, Director of Tenant Advisory Services for Edge, represented the tenant and Susan Bourgeois of The Rappaport Companies was involved in negotiations on behalf of the landlord.

Hope Grows Child Development Center offers a range of programming for children ranging from infant to school age including before and after school daycare. The center focuses on providing a nurturing and educational environment with an emphasis on intellect and social development and maintaining an atmosphere that promotes respect for diversity, mutual trust and personal and social responsibility. The educational philosophy is guided by the standards set by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and parents are recognized as an integral component of their child’s ongoing education.

Located just off MD Route 355 (Frederick Road), Fox Chapel Shopping Center is anchored by Great Wall Supermarket and Hope Grows Child Development Center will be operating within a majority of the space formerly occupied by Gold’s Gym. More than 33,000 vehicles pass the site on a daily basis and more than 55,000 people live or work within a three-mile radius. The center is expected to be operational in May 2023, joining sites in Montgomery Village and Germantown.

“The success of our first two childcare and educational centers have provided us tremendous confidence to open another facility serving the needs of Montgomery County-area parents and families and we are extremely gratified by the on-going support of the community,” stated Salema Horn. “We believe that our nurturing environment that puts the best interests of every child first, as well as the importance we give to promoting physical, mental and emotional health, are attributes that separate our concept from others. Each of our teachers take their roles extremely seriously and believe we are adding value to our students and their families lives every day. Because of the impact we have made in Montgomery County in our Gaithersburg and Germantown locations, Hope Grows is working on the next project to go international by 2024. We are also anticipating to expand and serve Olney and Silver Spring areas in Montgomery County in the near future. I am confident that Hope Grows will continue to serve Montgomery County children, families and staff for years to come and am equally excited for the next stages.”

“Finding the perfect long-term childcare solution for families is a stressful proposition as it is dictated by many factors including the proximity of providers, availability and cost,” explained Craig Kates of Edge. “The track record of Hope Grows Child Development Center is evidence that the concept has a proven formula that consistently meets and surpasses the expectations of families. Fox Chapel Shopping Center offers the ideal demographics to ensure continued success.”
