Kusshi Sushi opened its first location in Pike & Rose back in 2018, taking over the space that was formerly home to Carluccio’s next to Owen’s Ordinary. Last week, the restaurant opened its second location at 1201 W Joyce St in Arlington, VA’s Westpost, in the storefront that was formerly home to Namaste Everest. Locations #3 and #4 opening by the end of this summer in Silver Spring and Vienna.
The menu at the Arlington location is similar to the Pike & Rose location, with the menu including a wide variety of sushi, sashimi, katsu, ramen, and massive selection of sake. Currently only indoor seating is available, but outdoor seating will come at a later time.
Back in September 2021 we let you know that Kusshi, a popular sushi restaurant in Pike & Rose, would be opening a new location called Kusshi.ko in Downtown Silver Spring, taking over the location that was formerly occupied by Gusto in Downtown Silver Spring (8512 Fenton Street).
Last month we were told that the restaurant will be dropping the “ko” from its name due to approval issues with the signage and will now be going by the Kusshi name going forward. The restaurant will have a similar, but slightly more limited, menu as Kusshi in Pike & Rose. We are told it will definitely have all of the sushi items and hopes to open by the end of the summer.
