Updated to reflect an updated closing date of September 25th

A manager at the restaurant was able to confirm that Miller’s Ale House will be closing permanently in August (the date has since been updated to September 25th) after approximately 10 years at 1471 Rockville Pike in Rockville. The location was previously home to Hooters before it moved across the Pike (and later closed) and Shakey’s before that. Miller’s Ale House is a Florida-based American restaurant and sports bar chain that was founded in 1988. The restaurant serves steaks, chicken, burgers, salads, seafood, and more. Though most of their locations are in Florida (over 50), there are over 30 other locations open across the east coast. Miller’s Ale House has nearby locations in Hyattsville and Sterling, VA locations.

Back in March 2022, the building was made available for lease, but at the time we were told that Miller’s Ale House had no plans to close. Landlord wants ALOT more money and won’t negotiate. Affordable dining is dead in this county

Sucks you can’t have a great sports bar with affordable food and drinks. Unlike pike and rose that charges $12 for wine and $10 per beer. Maybe they’ll call it North Bethesda next. The future of Rockville is bleak

Yea this stinks. I’ve loved their zingers since I lived in Orlando 20 years ago, the only place to get them was here. Say it ain’t so!!

I’m not surprised. The service there was terrible, especially if you were with a large group.

Sorry to hear that yet another place is closing in Rockville. But honestly, I’m not surprised Miller’s is closing. In the 6 years I’ve lived in Rockville I ate there one time. The food was average and way overpriced, and the service was terrible. So I never went back.

I am DEVASTATED by this news!!! This place has been one of the staples of the area that I have come to know and love since moving here. I’m a regular and like to treat myself to the Black and Bleu burger whenever I feel an urge for a pick-me-up.

I’ve only lived in this town for a short period of time yet this restaurant has already made a lasting impact on me. From solo meals, group gatherings, to dates this place hits the spot. Hopefully a location can open up in Silver Spring or somewhere in MoCo.

Another restaurant taken down by a landlord jacking up the rent and those in power will do NOTHING to curb their greed especially when most fail to make any effort to maintain the property like it’s parking. All we will have is either subpar fast food or expensive/over priced dining. Absolutely shameful.
