The joint public hearing on the Lakeforest Mall Rezoning & Sketch Plan was conducted on January 17, 2023. The Planning Commission will hold their record open until 5 p.m. Friday February 17, 2023 with anticipated recommendation March 1, 2023. The Mayor & City Council hold their record open until 5 p.m. Friday March 10, 2023 with anticipated Policy Discussion April 3, 2023.

Please see the city’s website to see that the developer COMPLETELY IGNORED the wishes of the public who attend the meeting. City staff is obviously sleeping with the developer on this one. It’s disgusting that staff is so blatantly serving the wins of the developer and emphatically giving the public the finger. Hopefully the Planning Commission will have the cahunas to stand up to staff. The PC are the professionals appointed to do what is best for the city. Staff’s recommendations DO NOT HAVE TO BE BLINDLY FOLLOWED.
