Montgomery County Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred this morning in Wheaton-Glenmont. According to MCPD, “At approximately 5:04 a.m., 4th District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the area of Veirs Mill Rd. and Newport Mill Rd., for the report of a traffic collision involving a pedestrian.
For reasons still under investigation, an adult male victim was struck by blue Toyota RAV4, on Veirs Mill Rd. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the striking vehicle remained on scene.
The Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) is investigating this collision. A news release will be distributed once more information becomes available, including the name of the deceased following proper notification of next of kin.
