CANCELED: The 85th Annual Gaithersburg Labor Day Parade to Take Place September 4th

: The ever-popular Gaithersburg Labor Day Parade returns to the streets of Olde Towne. This rain or shine event includes dance groups, antique cars & fire trucks, clowns, high school marching bands, and an assortment of community groups, equestrian units, & more. More details will be added as the event draws nearer.

The City & the Gaithersburg-Washington Grove Fire Department celebrate the unofficial end of summer with the 85th Annual Labor Day Parade on Monday, September 4, 2023, at 1 p.m. The parade features an assortment of high school marching bands, dance groups, costumed characters, antique cars & fire engines, equestrian units, clowns, and more, all winding their way down East Diamond & Russell Avenues. Note that participation in the Labor Day Parade by groups or organizations other than City of Gaithersburg officials, departments or committees does not constitute City of Gaithersburg endorsement. Food vendors will be located at Olde Towne Plaza and the parking lot next to the Gaithersburg-Washington Grove Fire Station.

Are you interested in participating? The City seeks community groups & other organizations to march in the parade. This is a great way to be involved in the community and to get your group noticed, plus your unit might even win a special award. Note that participation in the Labor Day Parade by groups or organizations other than City of Gaithersburg officials, departments or committees does not constitute City of Gaithersburg endorsement.

Organizations & individual volunteers are also needed to distribute program booklets, assist with parade line up duties and participate as characters in the parade. All registration forms must be returned with the Participant Agreement Form. No submissions will be accepted after 5 p.m. on August 18. Additional information and forms can be found here.
