It has been nearly two years since it was announced that the Michael Schlow restaurant group would bring The Riggsby to Bethesda. Now it’s confirmed that The Riggsby won’t be coming, after all.

After multiple reader tips, we called The Salt Line DC today and spoke with a representative who was able to confirm that the restaurant would be moving in to 4900 Hampden Lane– the space that was formerly home to Kapnos (and would have been home to The Riggsby). We were also told a Ballston, VA location would be opening in 2-3 weeks.

This past summer we let you know that New York based Mexican restaurant Mexicue, which has a nearby location at 1720 14th St NW in DC, would be coming to 4733 Elm St., the former site of Gusto Farm to Street.

The restaurant has its Montgomery County ABS hearing for a beer, wine, and liquor license set for October 7th at 1:30pm.

Vang thought of his mom’s story. She came to the United States as a refugee of the Secret War in Laos and was only able to find low paying jobs due to her limited English language skills. Even though she had to work multiple jobs, she always found time to cook amazing meals for her family.

Vang wanted to create opportunities for chefs like his mom, while introducing unique flavors to the D.C. area. Currently, Foodhini offers food from four chefs- an Eritrean chef, an Iranian chef, a Lao chef, and a Syrian chef. They plan to add more chefs and feature a wider variety of cuisines as they continue to grow.

She is also the world record holder in the women’s 400-, 800-, and 1500-meter freestyle (long course), and holds the fastest-ever times in the women’s 500-, 1000-, 1500-, and 1650-yard freestyle events.

Katie Ledecky, one of the greatest female swimmers of all-time, visited Little Flower School in Bethesda yesterday. Ledecky provided words of encouragement to current students at the school while proudly wearing her most recent gold and silver medals from the recent 2020 Tokyo Olympics (held this summer). She and her Team USA Swimming teammate Phoebe Bacon both attended the school while growing up right here in MoCo.

Gregorio’s Trattoria will open its third MoCo location, and fourth overall, in Park Potomac in 2022. It will be located in the former home of Sugo (12505 Park Potomac Ave), which closed its doors permanently earlier this summer. Gregorio’s started out in Reston in 2008 and opened a second location in what’s now Cabin John Village in Potomac.

The restaurant opened its second MoCo location last November at the Shops at Sumner Place in Bethesda, in the spot that was home to China Pavilion for over two decades until it closed almost three years ago. They hope to open the new location in 6-8 months. Pictured is their chicken parmigiana with rosé sauce. The news of Gregorio’s Trattoria opening in Park Potomac was first reported by Store Reporter.
