Common Plate Hospitality announced today that they will be opening their first food hall in Maryland with The Heights Food Hall at Wisconsin Place.  The new food hall will be opening in the space formerly occupied by Anthropologie and PF Chang’s on the 5400 block of Wisconsin Ave.

According to a press release, “The Heights’ contemporary design consolidates the bright open space with white walls, art murals, charming textiles, modern lighting, and greenscaping to create a vibrant culinary oasis. Some creative concepts to join the Heights include eight food stalls that will feature a variety of international cuisine, a full-service bar, a speakeasy and Urbano @ The Heights – a contemporary Tex-Mex concept from Common Plate Hospitality”.


Founder Amanda McClements opened Salt & Sundry’s Union Market location in 2012 to share her passion for quality goods and entertaining. Since then, Salt & Sundry has grown with a second location in Logan Circle and a little sister shop, Little Leaf, offering plants, paper goods + gifts.

Planta, an Upscale Plant-Based Restaurant, is Now Aiming for a Fall Opening

Back in January we told you that Planta, an upscale plant-based restaurant featuring a menu by Chef David Lee, will be coming to 4910Elm St at Bethesda Row, in the location formerly occupied by Cafe Deluxe (Cafe Deluxe closed permanently back in March of last year).


Pop-up small dog park will be open July 15 – August 15, 2021, sunrise to sunset.  

Montgomery Parks and the Bethesda Urban Partnership (BUP) are teaming up to provide a pop-up dog park at Elm Street Urban Park from July 15 – August 15, 2021. The temporary, 4,600-square foot dog park will be located in the northern section of Elm Street Urban Park and open from sunrise to sunset.

“Savor Bethesda” Restaurant Week is Happening Now Through Sunday, July 18

“Savor Bethesda” Restaurant Week, which features 30 participating Bethesda restaurants offering fixed-price menus that range from $10-35, began this past Thursday and will run until this Sunday. The event is organized by the Bethesda Urban Partnership.


Back in January we told you that Levain, a New York-based bakery best known for their exceptionally thick cookies, was planning to open its first MoCo location.

Earlier today, Levain announced on social media that the Bethesda location will be tomorrow morning at 8am (Tuesday, 7/13/21). It’ll be located at 4844 Bethesda Ave, in the spot that was previously home to Francesca’s.


Bullis Students Create Award Winning Wheelchair-Stroller for Teacher’s Husband

A talented team of ten high schoolers from The Bullis School in Potomac, Maryland, invented and created an award-winning wheelchair stroller. This device allows for people in wheelchairs to independently take babies on a stroll, which recently the invention won two international awards.
