Two Suffer Life-Threatening Injuries After Beltway Rollover

Around 1:40PM Saturday, Montgomery and Fairfax County Firefighters responded to the Inner Loop of the Capital Beltway (I-495 North) between Persimmon Tree Road and River Road for a reported overturned vehicle. Responders found a vehicle that had ran off the roadway and struck a large, ground-mounted sign before overturning.


Taylor Momsen is well known for her role as Cindy Lou Who in How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Jenny Humphrey on Gossip Girl, but did you know she grew up in Potomac? Momsen attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School in Bethesda for elementary school and then Hoover Middle School.

Gibran Hamdan was drafted by the Washington Football Team in the seventh round of the 2003 NFL Draft, making him the first person of Pakistani descent to play in the league (his mother is Pakistani and his father is Palestinian).


A List of Restaurant Closures in MoCo Since March 17th, 2020

Though this isn’t a list of closures caused by the pandemic, since there is no way to determine every reason behind a closure, 17% of restaurants (over 110,000) have closed since the time it started, according to Business Insider.


The DMV has many scenic areas and buildings that have been used as striking locales for filming film and TV. Whether it’s downtown D.C., Baltimore, or Annapolis, location scouts consistently look to our surrounding areas as visual homes for their stories. Montgomery County is no different.
