According to Maryland Newsletters, the home was completed last month and traded soon after completion after sitting on the infill market listings for approximately one year. Last November we let you know that Sodexo committed its U.S. headquarters to 915 Meeting Street, a new 276,000-square-foot trophy office building that recently opened in North Bethesda’s Pike & Rose development. Sodexo’s headquarters are currently located at 9801 Washingtonian Blvd in Gaithersburg (next to Rio Lakefront). The firm pulled a permit toward a $5.59 million fitout of 51,907 square feet at the North Bethesda building, and now Prime US REIT has signed the first tenant that will take part of the space vacated by Sodexo

With around 20% of new businesses failing within one year and inflation making entrepreneurship even more difficult, the personal-finance website WalletHub today released its report on 2024’s Best & Worst States to Start a Business to showcase the most fertile grounds for planting and growing new ventures. Maryland came in ranked as the “4th worst place to start a business”, with additional information on the state below.

Shady Grove Medical Center has received a generous gift from the Ronald and Joy Paul Family Foundation for a state-of-the-art replacement Intensive Care Unit. The ICU, currently under construction within a new patient tower at the hospital, will be named The Ron and Joy Paul Family Intensive Care Unit once in service.

In July we let you know that Dream on Me, the New Jersey-based company that recently purchased Buy Buy Baby’s brand and digital assets for $15.5 million and was a supplier for the store, was the successful bidder for 11 store leases at a bankruptcy auction for about $1.17 million.Buy Buy Baby’s sole Montgomery County location, at 1683 Rockville Pike in Rockville’s Congressional Plaza, closed its doors on Sunday, July 30th, but was included as one of 11 stores that will reopen. The store reopened in November and is now holding an additional “Grand Re-opening Celebration on the weekend of January 20th and 21st. Details and registration link for the free event below:

Today, Montgomery County-based Choice Hotels launched its newest multichannel national marketing campaign, “A Stay for Any You.” The largest in Choice Hotels’ history, the campaign stars actor and writer Keegan-Michael Key in national TV and streaming TV ads and social media content.
