Brown announced that seven individuals have been indicted for alleged involvement in two organized groups linked to a series of armed robberies, attempted robberies, and other crimes targeting bank customers across multiple Maryland counties from August 2023 to July 2024. According to the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office, “Today in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, MD, the Honorable Sharon Burrell sentenced defendant Neel Patel, 24, of Carol Stream, IL, to 20 years in prison suspending all but 18 months to serve and five years of supervised probation upon release. Judge Burrell also ordered Patel to pay $331,817.54 in restitution to the victim.” (more…)
