Per MCPD: Officers from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District Patrol have arrested and charged 33-year-old Eric Delonty Feggins, of no fixed address, with rogue and vagabond, theft under $1500 and other related offenses for theft from auto.
On Friday, September 30, 2022, a detective with the 3rd District Investigative Section was parked in the 8100 block of George Ave., while conducting a follow-up investigation.
On 10/3/22 at 11:55 a.m. Rockville City Police responded to the area of E. Middle Lane and Helen Heneghan Way for the report of an attempted carjacking.
Officers met with witnesses who stated they heard a woman screaming and observed three males assaulting a female in the parking garage in the 300 block of Hungerford Drive. The witness attempted to intervene when one of the subjects pointed a handgun and fled on foot. The female victim advised officers that while parking her vehicle, the three men approached her, demanded her keys, and when she refused, they physically assaulted her.
Per the Metropolitan Police Department: Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a suspect and vehicle in reference to a homicide that occurred on Thursday, September 22, 2022, in the 3000 block of Adams Street, Northeast. At approximately 12:41 pm, members of the Fifth District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting.
Upon arrival, the members located an adult male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and after finding no signs consistent with life, the victim remained on the scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The decedent has been identified as 57-year-old Bacilio Villatoro, of Silver Spring, MD.
Today, a federal jury convicted Luis Flores-Reyes, a/k/a “Maloso,” “Lobo,”’ and “Viejo Lovvon,” age 41, of Arlington, Virginia; Jairo Jacome, a/k/a “Abuelo,” age 40, of Langley Park, Maryland; and Brayan Contreras-Avalos, a/k/a “Anonimo,” and “Humilde,” age 27, of Langley Park, Maryland, on federal charges related to a racketeering enterprise known as La Mara Salvatrucha, or “MS-13.” Jacome and Flores-Reyes were also found guilty of murder in aid of racketeering. Jacome was convicted of an extortion conspiracy and Flores-Reyes was also convicted of extortion conspiracy. The jury also found Contreras-Avalos and Flores-Reyes guilty of a drug distribution conspiracy.
“These defendants wreaked havoc within our communities through murder, extortion, and drug trafficking, now they will be held accountable,” said U.S. Attorney for the District of Maryland Erek L. Barron. “We will relentlessly prosecute MS-13gang members who terrorize our Maryland communities with intimidation and violence.”
The Baltimore office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has tweeted that it’s “seeking info about the “Red Hat Guy”, wanted for committing a bank robbery on September 16, 2022, in Silver Spring, Maryland. The suspect displayed a black handgun and is described as a White male, 50 to 60 years old, and 6’0″ to 6’2″ (tweet below)”
At approximately 12:25 p.m., 3rd District Officers responded to the location for the report of an armed bank robbery that just occurred. The investigation by detectives has determined that the suspect entered the bank and approached an employee. The suspect displayed a black handgun and demanded money. The employee handed over an undisclosed amount of money to the suspect who then left the bank.
Per Takoma Park Police: Chief Antonio DeVaul from the Takoma Park Police Department has announced the arrests of Anthony Dunn, 54, of Adelphi, Maryland, for stolen auto, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and open criminal warrants from Takoma Park for burglary, and the arrest of Hugh M. Dennis, Jr. 59, of Washington, DC, for possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) Crack Cocaine with the intent to distribute and possession of CDS paraphernalia.
On September 19, 2022, at approximately 7:48 am, a Takoma Park Police officer was in the 1000 block of Larch Avenue when he received a stolen vehicle hit on his mobile License Plate Reader (LPR) from a parked vehicle. A verification was made that the vehicle had been stolen from Prince George’s County, Maryland. The officer observed an individual, later identified as Dunn, sleeping in the driver’s seat. After identifying Dunn, it was also revealed that he had several open criminal warrants through Takoma ParkPolice for burglary. The stolen vehicle was impounded and several items of evidentiary value were found, including burglary tools. Dunn was arrested, charged accordingly and transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.
Today in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, MD, Judge Chris Fogleman sentenced defendant, John Tomlinson, 29, to 30 years suspend all but 15 years in prison. Ten of those years are mandatory meaning he won’t be eligible for parole until after then. Judge Fogleman also ordered 5 years supervised probation upon Tomlinson’s release. Tomlinson pleaded guilty to charges of attempted second-degree murder and prohibited person in possession of a firearm on August 25th. This stems from an incident on Dec. 13, 2021 at 2:14 a.m. in the area of Thayer Avenue and Manor Lane (video below).
A man, later identified as John Tomlinson, saw a driver collide with his friend’s vehicle parked on Manor Lane. As Tomlinson’s friend engaged in an altercation with the driver, Tomlinson ran down the street, retrieved a handgun from another vehicle and then returned to the scene firing off nine gunshots, hitting the vehicle, street signs and at least five businesses on Bonifant Street. Miraculously no one was injured. Video from a Tesla parked nearby was used along with area surveillance video to identify Tomlinson and he was in possession of a firearm when he was arrested the following month.
Per the U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of Maryland: A criminal complaint has been filed charging Mikiyas Maryie Kefyalew, a/k/a “Mick”, age 24, of Silver Spring, Maryland, with distribution of fentanyl resulting in the death of a minor victim. The criminal complaint was unsealed upon his arrest on September 16, 2022. The defendant had his initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Greenbelt on September 16, 2022 before U.S. Magistrate Judge Ajmel A. Quereshi and was detained pending trial.
The criminal complaint was announced by United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Erek L. Barron; Special Agent in Charge Jarod Forget of the Drug Enforcement Administration, Washington Division; Chief Marcus Jones of the Montgomery County Police Department; and Chief T. N. Treschuk of the Rockville City Police Department.
Today in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, MD, Judge Sharon Burrell sentenced defendant, Biet Van Tran, 65, to life without the possibility of parole on the charge of first-degree murder of victim, Linh Pham, 23, and to an additional 55 years in prison for two counts of attempted first-degree murder for the stabbing attacks on Quy Luc, 32, and Thi Nyguen, 22.
The stems from an incident in May of 2020. The COVID pandemic was underway, and the three victims planned a trip from their home in Florida to visit the D.C. area. On May 9th, 2020, they drove to Luc’s mother’s home at 911 Balmoral Drive in Silver Spring, Maryland. She had recently had a stroke and was staying in a rehabilitation center but her boyfriend, the defendant, was still living in the home. Luc also planned to assist with arrangements for his mother.
A call went out at approximately 6:50 p.m. for a fight that occurred at an adult soccer game at Argyle Middle School. One adult male was stabbed and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a local trauma center.
Approximately 30 people were involved in this fight and we have been told that there were over a hundred people in attendance. There is no one in custody at this time and this is not an MCPS related incident. The investigation is ongoing.
Per the Office of the U.S. Attorney, District of Maryland: Today the Justice Department announced the establishment of three Strike Force teams created to enhance the Department’s existing efforts to combat and prevent COVID-19 related fraud.
“These Strike Force teams will build on the Department’s historic enforcement efforts to deter, detect, and disrupt pandemic fraud wherever it occurs,” said Attorney General Merrick B. Garland. “Since the start of this pandemic, the Justice Department has seized over $1.2 billion in relief funds that criminals were attempting to steal and charged over 1,500 defendants with crimes in federal districts across the country, but our work is far from over. The Department will continue to work relentlessly to combat pandemic fraud and hold accountable those who perpetrate it.”
