Defendant Participated in a Conspiracy that Stole more than 3,000 Checks from Religious Institutions, At least one in Montgomery County
Per the U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of Maryland: U.S. District Judge Theodore C. Chuang sentenced Marius Vaduva, age 27, of Hollywood, Florida, to 42 months in federal prison, followed by 5 years of supervised release, for conspiracy to commit bank fraud and wire fraud. As part of his sentence, Vaduva will be required to pay $1,334,230.84 in restitution.
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Third District seek the public’s assistance in locating a suspect who is currently wanted in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) offense that occurred on Sunday, June 5, 2022, in the 1700 block of 7th Street, Northwest.
At approximately 5:10 am, members of the Third District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, members located an adult female victim suffering from a gunshot wound. DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The detectives’ investigation revealed that this offense was domestic in nature.
According to a tweet by Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) PIO Pete Piringer at 11:44pm, one juvenile was arrested and charged with arson (later released to and in custody of parents) for starting a fire at a playground located on Fisher Avenue in Poolesville at approximately 5:20pm on Sunday.
A paper bag and sandwich container were set on fire underneath the playground equipment, igniting the rubber mulch and damaging much of the playground equipment. There was approximately $75k in damages. The video of the fire can be seen below, courtesy of by Pastries-by-Sarahon Facebook:
Two 19-year-olds, Christian Santos and Christian Feliz-Mendez, were arrested and charged with Montgomery County, stemming from an incident that occurred at an apartment complex on the 5900 block of Montrose Rd. in Rockville, according to FOX 5. Santos, one of the two teenagers, has been identified as a cadet for the Metropolitan Police Department, but has since been terminated.
According to police, the two men arranged to meet with someone from Facebook who was selling a pair of Jordan 12 sneakers. The victim told investigators that shortly after arriving at the apartment complex, one of the two suspects pulled a gun and took the shoes. The victim reported that the suspect deactivated his Facebook account after the incident, but the account was later reactivated. It was then traced back to Christian Santos, who was also placed in the area by cell phone records.
Per the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Maryland Division: Daniel Morozewicz, age 38, of Frederick, Maryland, pleaded guilty yesterday to possession of child pornography.

Charles Smith; and Frederick County Sheriff Charles A. “Chuck” Jenkins.
On December 20, 2021, after a nine-day trial and nine hours of deliberations in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, MD before Judge David Lease, a jury found defendant Gregory Jones, 28, of Martinsburg, WV, guilty of first-degree murder for the deaths of Ashley Dickinson and Joshua Frazier in Burtonsville, MD. According to the State’s Attorney office, Judge David Lease sentenced Jones to two life terms in prison without the possibility of parole, plus an additional 30 years for what police described as an execution-style double murder.
On February 15, 2018, the bodies of Joshua Frazier and Ashley Dickinson, both Virginia residents, were discovered in Ms. Dickinson’s running 2013 Audi SUV at a home on Aldora Circle in the Briggs Chaney area of Burtonsville, Montgomery County, Maryland. Both had been shot once in the back of the head from the back seat of the vehicle. Police located two 9mm shell casings in the car, as well as a projectile on a sidewalk near the vehicle.
Per the U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of Maryland: U.S. District Judge George J. Hazel today sentenced Patrick Lawrence Wood, age 35, of Silver Spring, Maryland, to 17 years in federal prison, followed by lifetime supervised release for conspiracy to produce child pornography. Wood admitted that he paid co-conspirators in the Philippines to procure images and videos of children under the age of 12 engaged in sexually explicit conduct requested by Wood. Judge Hazel ordered that, upon his release from prison, Wood will be required to register as a sex offender in the places where he resides, where he is an employee, and where he is a student, under the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA).

From the U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of Maryland: Chief U.S. District Judge James K. Bredar sentenced Juan Carlos Sandoval-Rodriguez, a/k/a “Picaro,” “El Pastor,” and “Gasper,” age 24, of Annapolis, Maryland, to life in federal prison for a racketeering conspiracy, racketeering, attempted murder, assault with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit murder in aid or racketeering, as well as related violent crimes in aid of racketeering, including three murders, connected to his participation in La Mara Salvatrucha, a transnational criminal enterprise also known as MS-13.
On October 31, 2019, after a nine-day trial, a federal jury convicted Sandoval-Rodriguez of murder in aid of racketeering, and conspiracy to commit murder in aid of racketeering, in connection with a murder that occurred on March 11, 2016.
Today in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, MD, before the honorable Judge David Lease, a jury convicted defendant, Danys Martinez Lazo, 21, of Silver Spring, on one count of Criminally Negligent Manslaughter by Motor Vehicle for the death of Jaques Vainqueur, 57, of Silver Spring.
Martinez Lazo faces up to three years in prison and an additional five years of probation upon release. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for Friday, September 9th, 2022, at 8:30 a.m. This stems from a traffic collision on November 8th, 2020, on Old Columbia Pike, near Ruxton Road, in Silver Spring. According to Connally’s plea agreement, from December 28, 2020 to July 25, 2021, Connally used an anonymous email account from a provider of secure, encrypted email services based in Switzerland, to send a series of emails to Dr. Anthony Fauci, the current Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (“NIAID”) and the Chief Medical Advisor to President of the United States, threatening to harm and/or kill Dr. Fauci and members of his family. One of the emails threatened that Dr. Fauci and his family would be “dragged into the street, beaten to death, and set on fire.” On April 24, 2021 alone, Connally sent seven threatening emails starting at 10:05 p.m.
Shawndel Arnez Weems, age 24, of Monarch Mills Way in Columbia, was found guilty today by a Howard County jury of second-degree murder and use of a handgun in the commission of a crime of violence in the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Simeon Mukuna.
On February 6, 2021, officers from Howard County Police Department arrived at the 7500 block of Monarch Mills Way for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival officers located the victim, Simeon Mukuna, lying on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds. Medics responded and immediately began rendering aid. Mukuna died on the scene.
