After a potentially stormy weekend, Montgomery County could be in for one of its hottest stretches of the summer as July begins. Daily chances for showers and thunderstorms are expected through Sunday before temperatures climb rapidly early next week, with highs forecast to approach 100 degrees and heat index values potentially reaching as high as 110 degrees by Thursday.

Drivers traveling on I-95/I-495 (Capital Beltway) in Prince George’s County should prepare for overnight lane closures beginning Monday, June 29, as the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration starts a pavement improvement project between MD 214 (Central Avenue) and MD 4 (Pennsylvania Avenue).

Armand’s has officially served its last slice in Rockville. The longtime pizzeria closed its doors for the final time on Saturday, June 20, ending more than five decades of serving Montgomery County residents and visitors. With the closure of the Rockville restaurant, the only remaining Armand’s location is Armand’s Bistro & Pizza in Bethany Beach, Delaware.
