As reported earlier today by Source of the Spring, a notice on the door refers customers to their College Park location.

Last February the company announced that they’d be closing 50 stores nationally. At the time, there were 6 MoCo locations. Now there are just three– Kentlands, Germantown, and Rockville.

Silver Spring blogger, @MyLineIsRed (Twitter), stopped in and was able to get some pictures of Buena Vida prior to its opening (full versions of the picture seen below). MyLineIsRed was able to eat at TTT and described the food as being really good, but warned that the restaurant was extremely busy.

Tacos, Tortas, & Tequila offers an “authentic Mexican experience with a modern twist.”

I also spoke with the bartender for a little. He told me that Quarry House has the oldest active liquor license in MoCo (until Dietle’s is back up and running).

My Quarry House Tavern experience was just as I remembered it. There’s something about the place that just makes you love being there. The atmosphere is still perfect, the food is as good as you’ll find in a dive-bar (though I’m hesitant to call it that), and the beer selection is top-notch.

It was announced a few months back that Ivan Iracan would be bringing Tacos, Tortas, and Tequila to Silver Spring to occupy the old 8407 Kitchen Bar spot (https://mocoshow.com/blog/tacos-tortas-and-tequila-coming-to-silver-spring).

A few weeks later he announced that he would be bringing an unlimited small plates program, similar to the one at his popular D.C. restaurant Ambar, to the second level of the location– as Buena Vida.

Verratti, a MoCo native, has never been elected to public office. In the past, she has supported a bill that allows for the refinancing of student loans for Montgomery County residents. She would like to provide incentives for young workers to live in MoCo, as well as encourage businesses to start and grow here.
