Nimah tweeted, “While running for SMOB, I had a wonderful, enriching, and positive experience. I’m speaking out, however, because I recently received vile, disgusting, and hateful messages- attached below. I was disappointed and upset by the messages, but heartened and empowered by the support.”

“I will never let cowards shake me, and I will never let hate change me” said Nimah in a later tweet.


You’ll find familiar companies like Costco (#5), Wegmans (#8), MasterCard (#20), sprawled across the top 20, but coming in at #45 is our very own Montgomery County Public Schools.

The description reads: “Montgomery County Public Schools is the largest school system in Maryland and the 17th largest in the U.S., with an enrollment of 156,000 students in 202 schools. Those students come from 157 countries and speak 138 languages. The system has an annual budget of $2.39 billion. Montgomery County, north of Washington, D.C., includes the cities of Rockville, Bethesda, Gaithersburg, and Silver Spring.”


Chick-Fil-A is offering a free chicken sandwich to teachers from 11am-10pm at participating locations on Tuesday, May 8th. The only MoCo location that told us they’d be participating is the Olney location (we made calls to Montgomery Mall, Kentlands, Germantown, Rockville, and both Silver Spring locations).

All Chipotle restaurants will be offering a “Buy One Get One Free” deal for burritos, bowls, salads, or orders of tacos from 3pm to close on Tuesday, May 8th.


The bill will create a $15 million program that will provide scholarships (up to $5k) for students from families that earn less than $125k a year or single adults earning less than $90k a year.

Goodwin has been an MCPS employee for 43 years, spending the last 19 years as part of the Whitman administration (14 of them as principal). He began his MCPS career as an English teacher at Springbrook High School.
