In the latest edition of the MCPS IT Wire, it was shared that “Effective beginning Thursday, August 1, 2024, high school students will be unable to access Twitter (X), Facebook, and Instagram while connected to the Montgomery County Public School (MCPS) network.”
MCPS recently shared that Blair senior Tejusvi Vijay was named a Youth Volunteer of the Year during the 13th annual Montgomery Serves Awards earlier this summer.
MCPS recently announced that over the summer, the Springbrook High School MESA (Math, Engineering and State Achievement) state champions traveled to San Diego for the National Engineering Design Competition, competing against teams from eight other states.

The Association of Vietnamese Americans awarded $1,000 scholarships at the Annual Academic Awards Ceremony held earlier this summer to two Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) students for their excellence in academic performance, leadership skills, and community involvement.
Construction is complete at Neelsville Middle School, located at 11700 Neelsville Church Rd in Germantown, with students ready to return to school on Monday.

160,000 students will be heading back to school on Monday and more than 900 teachers having been hired by MCPS ahead of this school year. In its staff billetin, the school system also shared that there are 43 new principals (or new to their school).
