Calling all artists! The Rockville Swim and Fitness Center is looking for your help to create a unique and vibrant art installation for its outdoor pool. Per the social media posting, “This is a great opportunity for a professional artist to showcase their talent and make a lasting impact on the community.”
Phil Barnes, MCPS coordinator of instrumental music and theatre since 2020x has been involved with the Baltimore Ravens marching band since 2010 as a musician, drum major, music arranger and instructional staff member. Since 2022, he has been the mellophone section leader.

Since the Potomac version of Real Housewives premiered, the stars of the show have been spotted filming at various places across the county. In last night’s episode, they visited Clover Boutique at 502 Main Street in Gaithersburg’s Kentlands neighborhood.
As part of the Takoma Park Art Series, Interfaith Comedy will hold a free stand-up next month at the Takoma Park Community Center.
Gaithersburg’s 12,300 square foot skate park will open for Spring Break on Saturday, March 23. The park will be open all week from 12pm until sunset and will close again on Sunday, March 31st. Both companies serve the Mid-Atlantic and the beer will be available in Maryland.
Wootton High School’s Acappella group, The Acatonics, have done it again. Just a week after winning first place overall, along with best soloist and vocal percussionist, at SingStrong New York, The Acatonics won first place in the prestigious International Competition of High School Acappella (ICHSA) Quarter Final Competition on Saturday Feb. 10th.
