Westfield Wheaton Mall (11160 Veirs Mill Rd, Wheaton, MD 20902), in partnership with The Music in Me Foundation International, has announced its inaugural PeerPositivePOWER CommUNITY Dance Party that will be free and open to the public. Set to coincide with International Anti-Bullying Month and take place in front of the Macy’s Lower Court from 2pm to 3pm on Friday, July 21, the event will shed light on anti-bullying and non-violence. Esteemed Broadway performer and Artistic Director of the Foundation, Danny Soto, will lead the dance party.

A celebration of unity and inclusivity, the event is aligned with Westfield Wheaton Mall’s ongoing mission to foster community connections in safe, vibrant public spaces. It will feature performances by over a hundred people from a myriad of local community groups, including teenage campers, senior citizens, a go-go band from the Washington Metropolitan Police Department, and visiting Senegalese youth as part of an exchange program. Retailers will offer special giveaways on-site and there will be a DJ and live on-air coverage by WKYS.


“Wet, Wacky, & Wild” wil take place on Friday, July 14th from 6pm until 10pm in Poolesville. The event will take place at the Whalen Commons, located at 19701 Fisher Ave. Additional information below, per the Town of Poolesville:

We’ll end the evening with the movie Dolphin Tale on the big screen.”


Montgomery Parks aims to inspire a new generation of environmental stewards during Latino Conservation Week. Activities planned in Parks July 15-23, 2023.

Montgomery Parks is celebrating the tenth annual Latino Conservation Week July 15-23, 2023, with events and programs to support the Latino community in getting outdoors and participating in activities to protect our natural resources. Latino Conservation Week was started by the Hispanic Access Foundation to connect Latino communities with access to outdoor recreation and conservation education. More than 200 events are planned nationwide to inspire the next generation of environmental stewards. Montgomery Parks has several free events planned for adults and children. All events will be conducted in Spanish and English:

Westfield Montgomery Mall has announced its free, family-friendly and open to the public Touch a Truck Community Day event. Set to take place in the Cheesecake Factory parking lot on Saturday, July 15, from 10am to 1pm, the family-oriented affair promises to bring the community together with a myriad of local community partnerships and activations. The event promises something exciting for everyone, from bounce installations to truck moments and a kids magician/entertainer to face painting.


Explore all things sports as the City of Gaithersburg hosts the annual SportsFest on Saturday, July 15th from 8am-11am. Youth entering grades K through 8 can participate in a variety of activities. The free event, which takes place rain or shine, will be held at Bohrer Park at Summit Hall Farm.

The Gaithersburg Sports philosophy of participation over competition will be on display throughout the day. The event kicks off with a 3K Run through Bohrer Park at 8 a.m., registration is required for the 3K Run. The deadline to register is Wednesday, July 12, 2023. Following the 3K Run, we will have an opening celebration before the stations open at 9 a.m.


“Our Independence Day fireworks displays are such wonderful events and the perfect opportunity to enjoy music, outdoors and time with family and friends,” said Montgomery County Recreation Director Robin Riley. “We look forward to celebrating together once again this summer.”

A Rockville tradition, the city’s annual Independence Day celebration, returns to King Farm on Tuesday, July 4, with music, fireworks and fun. Hosted by the Mayor and Council, the celebration will once again be held at the 26-acre Mattie J.T. Stepanek Park, 1800 Piccard Drive, in King Farm, which offers easy access and ample free parking, with convenient exits within a short walk of the fireworks viewing areas.

The celebration includes live music by Under the Covers at 7 p.m. and a fabulous 20-minute-long fireworks display at 9:15 p.m. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs, food and beverages. Outside alcohol and barbecuing is prohibited. There is no rain date. The entertainment and fireworks can be viewed from park grounds.


Per the Town of Poolesville: The Annual 4th of July fireworks display will be held on July 4th, with gates opening starting at 5 PM with food trucks and live music. The fireworks themselves will begin at dusk. The Upper Montgomery County Volunteer Fire Department (UMCVD), puts on this event, which is sponsored by the Town of Poolesville. The Family Room Laytonsville will be hosting “The Fourth at the Family Room”’on Monday, July 3rd. Nearby Montgomery Country Club will be setting off their fireworks on Monday, July 3rd and the display can be seen from the parking lot of The Family Room (6820 Olney Laytonsville Rd), featuring “The Best Burger in the DMV” Steeze Burger.

The fireworks display begins at 9:15pm, but it is advised to arrive early to secure your spot. Per The Family Room: “We will be open late on July 3rd for ice cream, Steezeburgers and local fireworks. @steeze.burger will be serving burgers starting at 5p until they sellout! 🍔 We will also have live music from local artist @katekeeleymusic starting at 6:30p! Montgomery Parks is hosting “Espectáculo de comediá en español” (Spanish Comedy Show), a free Spanish-language comedy show on Thursday, July 6, at Flower Avenue Urban Park. The event is appropriate for ages 13 and older and is part of the Parks Playhouse series. Five nationally recognized Spanish-speaking comedians (Che Guerrero, Carmen Lynch, Pedro Gonzalez, Elena Torres, and Jepherson Guevara) will take the stage and perform their stand-up routines that will touch on relatable topics such as family, relationships, inheritance and how to navigate life.
