Construction on Moe’s Southwest Grill at 19222 Montgomery Village Ave in the Montgomery Village Center began this past week.
The owners of the fast casual Mexican restaurant tell us that they plan to open by the end of the year.

Yeah Construction has begun at the site of the upcoming Starbucks in the Montgomery Village Center.
The Starbucks will be located at the former site of the Montgomery Village Denny’s (19290 Montgomery Village Ave), directly across the new Lidl grocery store that is currently being built, and nearing complete across the street at the site of the former Montgomery Village Professional Center.

Latest Update on Lidl in Montgomery Village
The Lidl at 19241 Montgomery Village Ave. in Montgomery Village has begun hiring. Positions are now listed on Indeed.com and hiring signage has been placed in from of the building.

On September 15, officers from the Montgomery County Police – 6th District responded to the 11000 block of Game Preserve Road to assist the Maryland Department of National Resources Police with a call for the found remains of an adult male. The body of the adult male had been discovered in a pond.
The Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division, have identified the remains as Waymon Meadows Anderson, age 57, of Montgomery Village. Anderson had been reported missing and was last seen in the 9900 block of Medical Center Drive on September 11, 2021.
New Coffee Shop Opening Soon at Former Ruby Tuesday Location at Lakeforest Mall in Gaithersburg
Equity Coffee will be opening up this fall inside of the space formerly occupied by Ruby Tuesday in Lakeforest Mall. Ruby Tuesday closed the location back in March of 2020 and there are currently no more Ruby Tuesday’s left in Montgomery County.

According to the Village News, the owner of the Village Center has said that construction of the new Starbucks will begin as early as November. They also noted that permits are being processed by Montgomery County and the purchase of construction materials are in progress.

Single Vehicle Rollover on Watkins Mill Rd in Montgomery Village
There was a single vehicle rollover around 2PM this afternoon at Watkins Mill Rd and Apple Ridge Rd in Montgomery Village. Two parked cars were also damaged but they were unoccupied at the time of the accident.

Lake Whetstone in Montgomery Village Avenue has been drained to perform maintenance, according to the Montgomery Village Foundation.
