LuminoCity Light Festival Coming to Montgomery County Fairgrounds This Month

The LuminoCity Winter Lights Festival is coming to the Montgomery County Fairgrounds (501 Perry Pkwy) in Gaithersburg later this month. According to its website, “LuminoCity was imagined through a desire to create unforgettable experiences. Using light and imagination, we can explore concepts of transforming creative thoughts, inspired by the world around us, into illuminating works of light and color. Every year, we bring new and unique pieces of art into our festival to create an immersive experience full of magic and wonder.” (more…)

MoCo Natives Bring Professional Lacrosse Back to Maryland

Poke Bros Opens First DMV Location This Week

In January we let you know that Poke Bros will be opening its first Maryland location in Gaithersburg’s Kentlands neighborhood. The restaurant, which opened its first location in 2016 and has since expanded to over 75 restaurants across the country, will be taking over the space that was previously home to Next Day Blinds at 107 Market St W until 2020.

DMV Empanadas is Moving to New Location

Major Crimes Detectives Investigating Fatal Montgomery Village Shooting; Identify of Victim Released

Per MCPD: “At approximately 12:49 p.m., officers received a call for a man unconscious, near the initial call, in the 18300 block of Lost Knife Cir. Upon arrival, officers located Alan Garnica of Gaithersburg, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Despite lifesaving efforts, Garnica was pronounced dead at the scene.
