Montgomery County Fire and Rescue responded to a fire at the Diamond Auto Clinic located at 110 E Diamond Ave in Gaithersburg around 6pm on Saturday, April 16.

Firefighters arrived to heavy fire conditions and a partial roof colapse, according to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer. The fire originated in a vehicle in the shop’s repair bay.


Montgomery County Fire and Rescue responded to a fire at the Montgomery County Airpark on Friday, April 15, around 3:15pm.

The fire, which was electrical in nature, originated underneath/in the crawl space of a double wide trailer office, according to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer.


Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services responded to a house fire on the 8700blk of Lochaven Dr. near Sabbath Ct, off of Warfield Rd. in Gaithersburg on Thursday, April 14 at 12:15pm.  First arriving units reported heavy fire in the garage and the bulk of fire was knocked-down by 1pm.

According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, the homeowner was doing repair work and cut a water pipe within the garage walls. Combustibles were too close to the heat source (cut pipe), which caused the fire.


Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services responded to a house fire on the 8700blk of Lochaven Dr. near Sabbath Ct, off of Warfield Rd. in Gaithersburg on Thursday around noon. First arriving units reported heavy fire in the garage.

By 1pm, Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer tweeted that the bulk of fire had been knocked-down and that MCFRS were working on some ‘hotspots’ and checking for extension.


The family of a Ryan LeRoux, a 21-year old that was shot and killed by Montgomery County Police in front of the McDonald’s located at 18273 Flower Hill Way in Gaithersburg on July 16, 2021, has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Montgomery County and the four police officers involved, according to FOX 5.

Last week the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office announced that a grand jury had declined to indict the Montgomery County police officers involved in the shooting.


Actress Devika Parikh is perhaps best known for her recurring role as Bonnie in the NBC political drama series The West Wing (1999 to 2003) or her current role as Melanie Pierce on OWN Network’s new family drama The Kings of Napa, but did you know she was raised in Gaithersburg?

Parikh was born in Massachusetts, but moved to Gaithersburg  with her family in her younger years. She is of Indian and African American origin, born to an East Indian father (from Bombay, India) and an African-American mother. She attended and graduated from Seneca Valley High School where she was the school’s first African-American Homecoming Queen and was voted “Best Personality” and “Most School Spirited.”
