The proposed redevelopment of Rio-Washingtonian Center will undergo additional revisions and a new round of public review after the Gaithersburg Mayor and City Council voted Monday to reopen the record indefinitely.

The City of Gaithersburg has completed the design for Crown Farm Park, with construction scheduled to begin in August 2026. The new neighborhood park is expected to open to the public in spring 2027.
Chew & Chill DIY is now in its soft opening phase at 367 Main St., Suite 100, in Gaithersburg’s Kentlands neighborhood. It has taken over the location that was previously home to Mei’s Bridal & Alterations. A first look video can be seen below.

The Container Store in Gaithersburg has officially closed permanently. The store, located at 201 Ellington Boulevard, welcomed its final customers earlier this month. It is now listed as permanently closed on The Container Store website.
