I dont think I’d ever jump out of an airplane…it’s just not my thing. Because of that, I was a bit hesitant to give iFly a shot, but since it was finally in MoCo I knew I had to.

Yesterday, I was able to go in for my first iFly experience at their Gaithersburg location (9400 Gaither Road). I had a great time and I recommend it as an activity you can do solo, with friends, on a date, or with the whole family.

Having grown up in Gaithersburg, heading over to The Airport Cafe to watch the planes was something I’d do once every couple years. As I’ve gotten older, enjoying their $15 all-you-can-eat brunch buffet on Sundays has made it a deal that’s tough to beat.

Outdoor seating, plane-watching, brunch, and an inexpensive good time for the whole family.

This summer MoCo residents have a new weekend happy hour hangout where they can dip their toes in the sand, enjoy an Orange Crush Cocktail (it is the beach cocktail) and relax at The Beach at Pike & Rose. They don’t need to drive 3+ hours to the Maryland or Delaware shore for this fun beach destination – it’s in their backyards.

Open daily, The Beach is a place to meet for lunch, play games and relax. On weekends it will feature the Beach Bar, hosted by Ridgewells Catering and offer beach inspired cocktails, beer and wine, as well as light snacks.

The big box retail chain, specializing in home decor products, will open their first Maryland location in Frederick this summer and will follow up with their second Maryland location in Gaithersburg this fall.

The Frederick store will be located at 1811 Monocacy Blvd.
