Per the Maryland Attorney General: The Consumer Protection Division of the Maryland Attorney General’s Office is warning  consumers about home warranty scam letters addressed to homeowners. These letters urge Maryland homeowners to renew a home warranty by claiming the current home warranty “may be expiring or may have already expired.” Even homeowners who have never purchased a home warranty are receiving this deceptive letter. The letters also imply an affiliation with the homeowner’s actual mortgage company and the “county deed records” office. The scammers responsible for these letters are in no way affiliated with the homeowner’s mortgage company or any official deeds office.

These letters generally ask for a response to the notice by a certain date, often include language such as “final notice,” and threaten that failing to call may result in financial risk for the homeowner. In examples of such a letter sent to the Attorney General’s office, also included are a document that resembles a check, with the words “renewal fee voucher,” as well as an actual photo of the homeowner’s home on the return envelope.

At one point Dave Portnoy, founder of Barstool Sports, ate pizza every day for two years while getting his “One Bite” pizza reviews started on Instagram and YouTube. Through the years, he has eaten pizza from various restaurants across the country– providing a 1-10 rating for each slice. While most of his reviews come from pizza places in Massachusetts, New York, and New Jersey, he recently tried a New York City Ledo Pizza location (video below).

“It’s good…you’d have to put it in a chain if it has over 100 locations, it’s pretty good for that type of pizza.” Portnoy said of the “Maryland style pizza”, referencing the amount of stores Ledo Pizza has grown to in recent years. He gave it a 6.7, which puts it towards the middle of the pack of the over 1,000 pizza places he has reviewed so far.

Maryland Quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa has become the school’s all-time leader in career touchdown passes, getting his 50th touchdown as a Terp against Rutgers earlier today. Tagovailoa completed 25-of-37 for 342 yards and one touchdown. He broke the record of 49 previously held by Scott Milanovich.

Tagovailoa is now ahead of successful Maryland quarterbacks like Boomer Esiason, Frank Reich, Stan Gelbaugh, Neil O’Donnell, Scott Zolak, and Scott Milanovich with his 50 touchdowns. The Terps, who finished the regular season at 7-5, reaching  seven regular-season wins for the first time since 2014, will find out what bowl they’ll be playing in on December 4th.
