Lending Tree, a U.S. online loan marketplace company, has created and released a list ranking “How Much is Costs to Raise a Small Child in Each State.”

Researchers from the website analyzed data from several sources to estimate and rank the costs to raise a child in each state and the District of Columbia.

Damascus Native Wil Armstrong Completes Cross Country Bike Ride For ALS

72 days after commencing his cross country, against the wind bike ride for ALS, Damascus native Will Armstrong has completed his trip. He started on June 26th from Rehoboth Beach, DE, and finished September 6th in First Beach La Push, Washington. 


Governor Larry Hogan today announced that the state has submitted the first recovery plan performance report required by the Department of the Treasury in accordance with the provisions of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), which directed $3.7 billion in federal aid to Maryland.

Following ARPA’s enactment on March 11, 2021, Governor Hogan and legislative leaders announced a bipartisan funding agreement, which took the form of Supplemental Budget #5 to the governor’s FY 2022 state budget proposal. The supplemental budget provided the initial outline for how the State’s ARPA funding would be spent; the report submitted today goes into further detail regarding the final $3.7 billion allocation.

Governor Larry Hogan today announced the launch of Connect Maryland, a transformative new initiative to supercharge the State of Maryland’s broadband investment with a total new investment of $400 million to fully address the digital divide. The governor made the announcement in Snow Hill, where he was joined by Senate President Bill Ferguson, House Speaker Adrienne A. Jones, and other local elected officials.


Yesterday, Hank Dietle’s announced that it would require proof of vaccination or a negative covid test 48 hours prior to any event.

Soon after, popular DC Area live music venues, The Anthem, 9:30 Club, Merriweather Post Pavilion, and a Lincoln Theatre, released a joint message that they would also be requiring any patrons who attend live events to be vaccinated or provide proof of a negative covid test within 72 hours of a live event.
