Update: One Dead After Friday Night Shooting in Germantown

Montgomery County Police responded to a fatal shooting that took place in the 19500 block of Gunners Branch Road around 8pm on Friday night. According to MCPD, “when 5th District officers arrived, they found several shell casings in the parking lot of the apartment complex and located an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds behind one of the apartment buildings.

Officers provided aide until Montgomery County Fire Rescue responded. The 57-year-old male was pronounced dead on scene. Witnesses stated that they saw several people drive away from the location and there are no suspects in custody at this time. It is too early in the investigation to provide suspect or vehicle descriptions.”

Concern for Missing 13-Year-Old

Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Special Victims Investigations (SVID) are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Ramiro Vladimir Palacios, a missing 13-year-old from Silver Spring.

Ramiro was last seen on Thursday, June 8, 2023, around 8 p.m., in the 1700 block of Hampshire Green Lane. Ramiro is approximately 5-feet, 8-inches tall and weighs 140 pounds. Ramiro has black eyes and black hair. He was last seen wearing a black shirt, black athletic pants and black Nike sneakers. Police and family are concerned for his welfare.

Suspect Threatens Employee With Knife After Attempting to Use Counterfeit Money

Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division are investigating an armed robbery of a Dollar City and More that occurred on Thursday, June 8, 2023. Detectives have released surveillance photos of the suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.

The initial investigation has revealed that at approximately 9:25 a.m., an unknown suspect entered the store in the 12300 block of Georgia Avenue and attempted to purchase several items with counterfeit money. When the employee told the suspect that she would not accept the counterfeit money, the suspect became angry and walked to the back of the store. The suspect then removed a package of steak knives from the shelf and returned to the front of the store. Pointing the knives at the employee, the suspect demanded money and the victim’s personal property. The employee complied with the suspect’s demands and the suspect left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash and property.

Police Investigate Gaithersburg Motel 6 Armed Robbery

Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Special Investigations Division are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at the Motel 6 in the 400 block of Quince Orchard Rd. in Gaithersburg on Friday, May 26, 2023. Detectives have released photos of the male suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.

At approximately 12 a.m., the suspect was seen entering the room that was occupied by two female victims and then exiting the room approximately 15 minutes later. Upon exiting the room, the suspect grabbed one of the victim’s pink purse, which contained U.S. currency and displayed a knife towards the victims. Both victims attempted to stop the suspect and a struggle ensued, which continued outside the hotel room. The suspect was then able to make good on his escape.

Concern for Missing 74-Year-Old

Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Charles Shepard, a missing 74-year-old from Adamstown.

Shepard was last seen on Thursday, June 8, at approximately 3 p.m., near Holy Cross hospital in Silver Spring. Shepard is approximately 5-feet, 10-inches tall and weighs 190 pounds. He is bald and has gray facial hair. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, Black shirt, blue jeans and red and gray athletic shoes. Police and family are concerned for his welfare.

Police and Family Concerned for Missing 26-Year-Old

Funes was last seen on Wednesday, May 31, at a residence in Flower Hill. Funes is approximately 5-feet, 4-inches tall and weighs approximately 180 lbs. Funes has a lily flower tattoo on her right shoulder. Funes was wearing a black tank top shirt, blue jeans, black sandals and was carrying a light green handbag. Police and family are concerned for her welfare.

Concern for Missing 24-Year-Old

Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 5th District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Dae’Lon Thomas, a missing 24-year-old from Montgomery Village.

Dae’Lon was last seen on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, in the area of the Thomas Choice Condominiums in Montgomery Village. Dae’Lon is approximately 6-feet, 1-inch tall. It is unknown what clothing he was last seen wearing. Police and family are concerned for his welfare.

$10,000 Reward Offered for Information on Block Party Shooting; Over 30 Shell Casings Found at Scene

When officers arrived on the scene, they found the teenager suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Officers from the 2nd and 4th districts responded to the location to assist as officers and detectives processed the crime scene.

Update: Teenage Girl Shot, Three Vehicles Hit by Bullets Friday Night

Montgomery County Police responded to a shooting on Friday, June 2, 2023, in the 11400 block of Stewart Lane in White Oak. According to MCPD, “At approximately 9:58 p.m., 3rd District officers responded to the location for the report of a shooting.

Officers located a teenage female with an apparent gunshot wound to her body and provided life-saving measures until Montgomery County Fire Rescue arrived. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Officers located shell casings in the parking lot. Approximately three vehicles were hit by bullets. No additional injuries have been reported at this time.
The suspects have not been apprehended.

Juvenile Hospitalized After Shooting Friday Night

Montgomery County Police responded to a shooting Friday night in White Oak. According to MCPD, “At approximately 9:58 p.m., MCPD responded to the 11400 block of Stewart Lane for the report of a shooting. An juvenile victim has been transported to an area hospital with non life threatening injuries at this time. There are no suspects in custody. ”
