Governor Hogan Renews State of Emergency for Maryland After 12 Days

On June 15th, Governor Hogan announced that the state of emergency due to COVID-19 would be lifted effective July 1st. Last week on July 12th, Governor Hogan renewed the state of emergency and catastrophic health emergency in a proclamation, which you can view here. There were no press releases or public announcements from the Governor’s office regarding the state of emergency, which lead to speculation as to why it was reinstated.


The Montgomery County Transfer Station, at 16101 Frederick Road in Derwood, has stopped accepting roofing materials.

The Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection posted a listing of alternative disposal sites, including Clarksburg-based C & D Recovery LLC. Other sites are located in Prince George’s County, DC, and Northern Virginia.


Marc Elrich Responds to Larry Hogan’s Message Asking Marylanders to Blame Elrich for This Weekend’s Traffic

Earlier this week Governor Hogan sent out a message on his social media accounts telling Marylanders to blame Marc Elrich and other Montgomery County politicians if they are sitting in traffic.


County Executive Marc Elrich was joined by State and local officials, along with workers and community leaders, at the Wheaton Community Recreation Center to celebrate the increase of the minimum wage that went into effect in Montgomery County on Thursday, July 1.


Marc Elrich has announced his recommendations for reimagining public safety in Montgomery County, with the goal to create a more equitable and inclusive county by promoting safe neighborhoods and communities that are better for all residents, according to a press release.
