On Thursday, Montgomery County Councilmembers Kristin Mink and Will Jawando introduced the Community Trust in County Employees Act (Expedited Bill 29-26), which would prohibit the County from hiring former employees of ICE or CBP into public-facing or resource-allocation positions if they were employed by those agencies after October 2025.

Montgomery County Health Officer Dr. Kisha Davis has issued a localized public health advisory for portions of the Muddy Branch watershed and nearby stormwater ponds in North Potomac after elevated levels of PFAS, commonly known as “forever chemicals,” were detected in water samples near Great Seneca Highway and Key West Avenue.
