On Tuesday, the Montgomery County Council approved a pilot program to deploy automated noise monitoring systems, or “noise cameras,” to help enforce state laws against excessive vehicular noise. Introduced by Vice President Kate Stewart and Councilmember Natali Fani-González, the program aims to reduce noise pollution by issuing warnings and fines for vehicles that exceed noise limits, with the pilot ending on June 30, 2026.
