Montgomery County’s Department of Environmental Protection received a $1 million federal grant from the U.S. Department of Energy to support the Low to Moderate Income Housing Electrification program, aiming to replace fossil fuel appliances with efficient electric alternatives, reduce energy costs, and improve indoor air quality in affordable housing units.
On Thursday, Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich announced the launch of the updated MOVE Grant Program, aimed at reducing office vacancies by offering funding to businesses signing their first lease or expanding in the County, with grants of $8 to $15 per square foot for new office space.
Nominations are open until November 30 for Montgomery County’s 2025 “Women Making History Award,” honoring women residents or workers for leadership and community impact, with winners recognized during Women’s History Month and at a reception; elected officials are excluded, and nominations must be submitted online.
Montgomery County’s Department of Permitting Services collected 1,050 illegally placed signs, including election signs, from public rights-of-way in a Nov. 12 “sign sweep,” recycling them at the Shady Grove Processing Facility. (more…)
