For three quarters, Stone Bridge had Quince Orchard right where it wanted it. The Cougars were sloppy. Carter Dailey threw two interceptions and lost a fumble. The offense couldn’t find much rhythm. And the Bulldogs had the homecoming crowd believing this might finally be the night they solved QO. Then the fourth quarter arrived.

Week 4 brings a few games that could start separating the contenders from the pack. Churchill and Whitman meet with the Congressional Cup potentially hanging in the balance, while Sherwood heads into a rivalry game with Blake before its showdown with QO. And then there are the games where somebody is finally getting over the hump.
Damascus (3-0) has spent the last two seasons trying to close the gap on Oakdale 3-0).That gap is still pretty wide. The Hornets were beaten by a combined 92-0 in two meetings with the Bears last season, so there is no shortage of motivation heading into Friday night’s showdown between two unbeaten teams. The question is whether Damascus has closed enough ground to make this one a game.

Quince Orchard High School’s football program has made its first-ever appearance in the High School Football America 300, a national ranking of high school football teams powered by NFL Play Football. Quince Orchard was ranked No. 300.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service crews responded to a collision involving a pedestrian on West Diamond Avenue near I-270 in Gaithersburg Monday evening.
