The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) and the County Department of General Services (DGS) have unveiled a Zero Emission Bus (ZEB) Transition Plan. This initiative aims to transition the County’s transit fleet, which consists of nearly 400 Ride On buses, to zero-emission vehicles by 2035. Currently, the Ride On bus system operates 14 electric vehicles. (more…)

A.J. Woods, a fifth year corner out of Pitt, signed with the Washington Commanders as an undrafted free agent this weekend. Woods, a Germantown native, was a two-way player at Northwest High School for coach Mike Neubeiser.
Michael Jurgens was drafted in the 7th round of the 2024 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings. The offensive lineman was a three-year starter at Wake Forest and part of three consecutive state championships teams under Coach Eric Wallich at Damascus High School.

In an update by MCFRS Assistant Chief David Pazos, “one adult female succumbed to her injuries on the scene and was a DOA. The occupant of the rollover vehicle (adult female) was transported in critical condition to a trauma hospital. Both North and Southbound lanes of RT355 were affected.”
