A new analysis from the regional planning organization Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments shows that Montgomery County reduced its communitywide greenhouse gas emissions by 32% between 2005 and 2023, even as the County’s population grew by 16% during the same period. (more…)


Montgomery County Police released its daily crime summary highlighting several incidents reported on June 3 and early June 4, including a stabbing at the Glenmont Metro Station, a commercial burglary in Silver Spring, and multiple vehicle thefts across the county.

For many longtime Montgomery County residents, Putt-Putt on Rollins Avenue was a rite of passage. Whether it was birthday parties, first dates, arcade games, or friendly mini-golf rivalries, the Rockville attraction created memories for generations before closing in 2002.

Today, Qdoba occupies part of the former site, while the neighboring Rollins Ridge apartment community had taken the old Putt-Putt property’s address. But located inside the apartment complex is a surprising piece of local history that many residents didn’t know is still around.
