MCPD Holiday Alcohol Taskforce Update: Driver Arrested After Crashing Into Metro Tracks in Rockville

A 22-year-old man was arrested on December 11th in Rockville and charged with DUI after crashing through a fence and ending up on the Metro’s tracks.


Last night (December 14th), the City of Gaithersburg Mayor and City Council held a joint work session with the Gaithersburg Planning commission to discuss findings from the Lakeforest Mall Master Plan engagement efforts.

On August 10th, the Mayor and City Council put into motion an amendment process for the Lakeforest Mall Master Plan, which would consider input from extensive public engagement to then produce a new design plan for the Lakeforest site that establishes an overall vision for the future development.

Patisserie Manuel Temporarily Closes Montgomery Mall Location

The popular French Bakery Patisserie Manuel announced on their Instagram page today that they will be temporarily closing their Montgomery Mall location due to staff members possibly being exposed to COVID. Their Silver Spring location will remain open.   


Montgomery County Council Approves Updated Covid Restrictions/Notes From Meeting

Today the Montgomery County Council introduced, conducted a public hearing, and voted on the amended Executive Order that includes updates a Covid restrictions. It was unanimously approved.


Montgomery County Police Toy Drive Going on Now Through December 17th

MCPD is working with the Uptown Consolidation HUB at BlackRock Center for the Arts in Germantown for a holiday toy drive. They are collecting 2,000 toys and gift cards for Montgomery County families.  Drop off locations will be at all six area police stations. Germantown Wegmans Speaks Out Against Possible Upcoming Restrictions

At 1pm on Tuesday, December 15th the Montgomery County Council will introduce, hold a public hearing, and vote on a resolution and Board of Health regulation that would approve the amended version of Executive Order 139-20 that would put further Covid restrictions in place for the county.
