The offer was initially a promotion for National French Fry Day on July 13th, but the success of the promotion has led McDonald’s to extend the promotion until the end of this year (12/30/18).
You can get a free small Slurpee at any 7-Eleven today (from 11am-7pm) as well as a Big Bite for just $1. Even though National Hot Dog Day isn’t for another week, 7-Eleven has decided to pair the $1 hot dog with Slurpee day.
Dont worry, you’ll still be able to get your $1 Big Bite on July 18th as well.
Current Councilmember Nancy Floreen announced her decision to potentially run for County Executive as an independent last week. Rumors swirled about her moving forward if Marc Elrich was to win the democratic nomination– and now it looks like there isn’t much stopping her.
Floreen must change her party registration to “unaffiliated” by August 6th and gather 7,000 signatures in order to appear on the ballot.
After days of counting ballots, Marc Elrich has won the Democratic Primary for Montgomery County Executive over David Blair by 80 votes, according to a tweet from Bethany Rodgers of […]
ROCKVILLE MD – This afternoon, the Blair Campaign filed a formal petition with the Board of Elections for a recount of the June 2018 Primary Election results.
Over the last several weeks, the Blair campaign has closely reviewed the results of the 2018 Primary Election. “We have analyzed the election results by precinct, reviewed the treatment of thousands of provisional ballots, and spoken with hundreds of individual voters who experienced difficulties registering to vote or casting their ballots,” said David Blair, “and while it is certainly unclear whether a recount will affect the outcome, we believe the narrow margin coupled with the numerous issues impacting the election make a recount appropriate.”
The Board of Education will consist of current Vice President Shebra Evans of District 4, Jeannette Dixon (At-Large), Rebecca Smondrowski (District 2), and Student member of the Board Ananya Tadikonda.
Next week minimum wage increases to $12.25 for large employers, and $12 for mid-sized and small employers.
Elrich leads Blair by about 400 votes, but the county issued nearly 15,000 absentee ballots according to the Washington Post. I’m told approximately half of the absentee ballots have been returned.
There was also a glitch/error that could have caused up to 80,000 voters in the state of Maryland to cast provisional ballots. Those will be counted next week, so it may take some time before we find out who the Democratic nominee for County Executive will be.
The next Girl Power event will be held on July 14th at Bethesda Crossing in Bethesda, MD.

Why not save precious land and build our new schools up, not out? Why not co-locate schools next to our many parks, sharing the play space?
