His proposal to let voters decide the fate of cannabis legalization would put the issue on the November 2018 ballot. If he fails to make it happen this session, the next opportunity would be the November 2020 ballot.
“Due to the ongoing debate about medical marijuana licensing in Maryland, I would say the odds of advancing a legalization referendum are under 50% right now.” Moon told me. He does, however, feel confident that voters would approve legalization if it was to make it on the ballot.

Alec Ross will be involved in the democratic primary this June along with Rushern Baker (Prince George’s County Executive), Ben Jealous (former NAACP President), Kevin Kamenetz (Baltimore County Executive), Richard Madaleno (State Senator D-Kensington), James Shea (Baltimore attorney), and Krishanti Vignarajah (former Michelle Obama aide).
Verratti, a MoCo native, has never been elected to public office. In the past, she has supported a bill that allows for the refinancing of student loans for Montgomery County residents. She would like to provide incentives for young workers to live in MoCo, as well as encourage businesses to start and grow here.

He is a MoCo kid that played his high school ball in the public school system at Gaithersburg High School. Miller was the team captain his junior and senior year at Gaithersburg. Though he filled out the stat sheet, his numbers weren’t spectacular. As a senior, he averaged 13.1 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.8assists, 2.6 blocks and 1.4 steals per game, while earning first team All-Gazette honors.
The bigger D1 offers weren’t there, but Miller took an offer from Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Since 1990, the amount of residents identified as Asian/Pacific Isl. has nearly doubled. Black or African American residents have seen an almost 6% increase in population. The Hispanic population has nearly tripled, and the Non-Hispanic/White population has seen a decrease of approximately 28%. “Other Race” has seen an increase of almost 4%.

Damascus defeated previously undefeated Glenelg (23-1), 46-19, to win their sixth straight state title.
In previous years, there was one 3A/4A champion and one 1A/2A champion, but a change was made to allow each classification to crown their own champion. Damascus, previously classified in 3A, was moved to 2A prior to this school year.

The Philadelphia Eagles announced they re-signed the Gaithersburg High School and Shepherd University product on a Friday, after he spent all of last season on their practice squad.

It has been nearly 9 years since Korson founded the company in August of 2009. Since then he has brought in many former college and professional athletes to teach youngsters the fundamentals in a an open-registration, recreation-level sports program, which also includes a travel program that has helped earn hundreds of athletes spots on high school teams, and placed dozens of athletes in college.
Korson had to hire his own coach as a baseball player at Whitman High School and that led to a high school career which earned him a scholarship to Florida Gulf Coast University and propelled him into the Walt Whitman High School Sports Hall of Fame.
