Shake don’t stir your way into Spring

Montgomery Parks is hosting a Cocktail series: The Spirits of Spring, featuring locally distilled organic liquors from McClintock Distilling. You can. join Montgomery Parks on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Norbeck-Muncaster Mill Neighborhood Park, Park Activity Building.


The parks are packed with activities for all ages this weekend! Check out these events happening Friday, April 22, through Sunday, April 24, per Montgomery Parks.

Start the weekend at Acoustics and Ales in Elm Street Urban Park in downtown Bethesda. Enjoy local craft beer, poutine, and pizza while listening to live music or playing games. Acoustics and Ales is Friday, April 22, from 5 pm to 7:30 pm.


Sensory bags help first responders working with people with disabilities.

WHEATON, Md. – The Maryland-National Capital Park Police, Montgomery County Division, and the Montgomery Parks’ Program Access Office are working together to equip officers with sensory bags. Each bag offers calming tools for individuals dealing with extreme stress that will allow officers to connect with an individual who may have a disability or a mental health issue, helping to de-escalate a stressful situation.


A 17-year-old was arrested on Saturday, April 9 in connection with several incidents of “unwanted touching” at Black Hill Regional Park in Germantown.  According to Park Police, on more than one occasion, the suspect touched people on the buttocks, which is a forth degree sex offense, and then drove away on an electric bicycle.

The investigation took place over several weeks and involved an increased police presence and undercover officers at the park.


A mural designed by artist Justin Valenti will be unveiled at the event on April 23, 2022.

Montgomery Parks will host Shine Brighter Together on Saturday, April 23, 2022, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Wheaton Regional Park to recognize Autism Acceptance Month. As part of the free event, a new commUNITY mural created to raise awareness of the value and importance of inclusion of students with disabilities in schools and in the community will be unveiled. The mural will be located on the wall directly behind the Adventure Playground. Event attendees can participate in painting the larger-than-life mural that represents diversity, inclusion, and acceptance in Montgomery County.
