The Montgomery County Planning Department will present the scope of work of its upcoming Germantown Employment Area Sector Plan Study to the Montgomery County Planning Board at its meeting on February 8, 2024.

The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission has amicably resolved a claim by former Montgomery County Planning Department Director Gwen Wright. Wright was removed as Planning Director in October 2022 after over nine years in the position. She had previously announced her retirement, effective January 1, 2023.

The Montgomery County Planning Department announced it has received a Maryland Department of Planning Sustainable Growth Award for Thrive Montgomery 2050, the update to Montgomery County’s General Plan approved and adopted in October 2022.
The Montgomery County Planning Department presented the preliminary recommendations of the Great Seneca Plan: Connecting Life and Science to the Montgomery County Planning Board at its December 7, 2023 meeting.
