Kabuto, a Japanese restaurant located at 220 East Middle Ln in Rockville that offers hibachi, sushi, and ramen, closed at some point Tuesday and remained closed on Wednesday. The restaurant has told us it was a temporary closure due to illness, but will be reopening today (Thursday at 4pm).

Back in March we let you know that a sushi buffet would be moving in to the space that was home to Miller’s Alehouse from 2012-2022. In December we let you know that it’ll be a different restaurant that will be moving in, but things have gotten a little more complicated as the restaurant moves closer towards openings.

Emergency personnel was called to Wootton High School at approximately 10:50am Monday morning for an unresponsive student in a classroom. According to an email sent home by principal Douglas Nelson, Wootton staff provided aid and emergency response team was called to the school. The student transported to the hospital. In September 2022, Montgomery County Police announced that an arrest was made in connection to the 1971 murder of Captain James Tappen Hall, a Montgomery County Special Deputy Sheriff who died from injuries sustained after being shot at the Manor Country Club in Rockville. Larry Smith, then 71, was arrested and suspected of shooting and killing Montgomery County Special Deputy Sheriff Captain James Tappen Hall 53 years prior. His trial ended in a hung jury Wednesday,

Last November we let you know that Sodexo committed its U.S. headquarters to 915 Meeting Street, a new 276,000-square-foot trophy office building that recently opened in North Bethesda’s Pike & Rose development. Sodexo’s headquarters are currently located at 9801 Washingtonian Blvd in Gaithersburg (next to Rio Lakefront). The firm pulled a permit toward a $5.59 million fitout of 51,907 square feet at the North Bethesda building, and now Prime US REIT has signed the first tenant that will take part of the space vacated by Sodexo
