The Block Food Hall, which offers “various unique Asian eateries in an upbeat community-focused setup with a bar, sports on TV, and weekend DJs nightlife,” at 967 Rose Ave in North Bethesda has reopened its “Block Bar”. The food hall had paused the sale of alcoholic beverages back in April. A representative from The Block tells us that the new operating hours will be 12pm-10pm daily.

Per Rockville Police: Officers from the Rockville City Police Department responded to the Exxon Gas Station in the 200 block of N. Washington Street on May 22, 2023 for the report of an attempted armed robbery. At approximately 8:15 p.m. two unknown men approached a customer who was filling up their car with gas, one man produced a handgun, and demanded the victim’s keys. The victim refused and drew attention to nearby customers as to what was happening. The two suspects fled south on N. Washington St. without obtaining the vehicle or any personal property. Video surveillance was obtained of the two suspects wanted in connection with this incident.

Fox 5 will kick off its 2023 Zip Trip season in Pike & Rose this upcoming Friday. Last year, FOX 5 visited 15 cities across our region of the country that we call home through their Zip Trip series. FOX 5 Zip Trip is a weekly Friday series that highlights the best spots to visit around the D.C. region area that includes on-air personalities and crew who will broadcast live from the properties to highlight the local businesses and community.

In 2023, Fox 5 will continue that by visiting 15 more cities, starting with MoCo’s very own Pike & Rose this Friday, May 26th. At each stop, they plan to “show you the incredible people and places that make the DMV special all summer long. From must-stop locations, to tasty restaurants – to compelling community members, you won’t want to miss a minute!” The Zip Trip events start early, usually around 6am, and last throughout the morning. Fox 5 Zip Trip will return to MoCo, in Germantown, on August 4th.


Kung Fu Tea in Rockville Town Center (275 N Washington St), MoCo’s first Kung Fu Tea, has added @neongaming.io to the shop. As of now, you play for free with the purchase of a drink. You can choose from some of the arcades or you choose a game for XBOX or PS5 and play on one of the tv’s (solo or against a friend). Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services responded to a collision involving an overturned vehicle in Rockville on Monday, May 22 around 12:30pm. According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer , one adult was transported to the hospital with Priority 2 injuries after being pinned in their vehicle.

Veirs Mill Rd. is closed at Edmonston Dr. as the result of the collision. Drivers are advised to seek an alternate route and to significant delays. We will post an update if additional information becomes available.


Signage is up for Tequila Modern Mexican at 11 N Washington Street in Rockville Town Center, the former location of Trapezaria. Tequila Modern Restaurant recently opened its first location at 1645 Reservoir St #185 in Harrisonburg, VA. Construction on the interior of the Rockville location appears to have just begun and no opening timeframe has been announced.

Trapezaria, which opened in the summer of 2013, permanently closed on March 11. The restaurant posted the following message on its social media accounts: “We would like to inform all of our loyal customers over the last 10 years that Trapezaria Greek Kuzina will no longer be in Rockville and will will not be renewing our lease. Our time has come to an end and we would like to invite you for our last Saturday brunch and Dinner today March 11th, 2023. We will have a special food & drink menu to show our appreciation to you!!! Thank you and looking forward to seeing you all.”


The city will operate a free shuttle service to RedGate Park on both days of the festival, running every 20 minutes, 10 a.m.-8 p.m., from Monroe Street, between East Montgomery Avenue and Middle Lane. There will be no shortage of musical acts, including performances by The Nighthawks, Capital Effect, The JoGo Project, Cole Larravide, and Ocho De Bastos. Per the Office of the U.S. Attorney, District of Maryland: U.S. District Judge Stephanie A. Gallagher today sentenced Daniel Morozewicz, age 38, of Frederick, Maryland, to 42 months in federal prison, followed by lifetime supervised release, for possession of child pornography.  Judge Gallagher also ordered that Morozewicz must pay $14,000 in restitution.

According to his guilty plea, from September 2020 to January 2021, while employed as a Rockville Police Officer and an Army National Guardsman, Morozewicz received, possessed, and distributed child pornography on the BitTorrent file sharing network.  Morozewicz also used multiple electronic devices to download and distribute child pornography involving prepubescent minors.


Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police- Special Victim Investigations Division (SVID) are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Anaje Anthony Denton Nzuwah, a missing 14-year-old from Rockville. Nzuwah was last seen on Friday, May 12, 2023, at approximately 7:45p.m., in the area of Rockville Town Center.

Nzuwah is approximately 5-feet, 9-inches tall and weighs 175 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a red scarf, brown sleeveless hoodie, black sweatpants. He could be wearing a grey hoodie, black sweatpants and black and grey Crocs. He may be with another missing teen, Nawean Dion Waters. Police and family are concerned for his welfare.


Zayonah Jackson was last seen on Friday, May 19, 2023, at approximately 8 a.m., in the 1300 block of 1st Street.  Zayonah is approximately 4-feet, 11-inches tall and weighs 120 pounds. She has long brown hair and brown eyes. It is unknown what clothing she was last seen wearing.

Zybreiah Jackson was last seen on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at approximately 8 a.m., also in the 1300 block of 1st Street.  Zybreiah is approximately 5-feet, 3-inches tall and weighs 150 pounds. She has long brown hair and brown eyes. It is unknown what clothing she was last seen wearing.  Police and family are concerned for their welfare.
