Per Rockville City Police Department: Traffic Alert – 10/26/22 at 9:30 p.m. Southbound Wootton Parkway is temporarily closed at Seven Locks Road due to a traffic collision. Driver of vehicle was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

Per Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services: MCFRS are on the scene of a collision with injuries on Wooton Pkwy near Tower Oaks in Rockville. 2 adults being evaluated, 1 has serious, non-life threatening injuries. Wooton Pkwy closed.

Last month we let you know that Dick’s Warehouse Sale is coming to Congressional Plaza in Rockville, taking over the space previously occupied by Saks OFF 5th, which closed in 2019, at 1675 Rockville Pike. According to its Google listing, the store will open on Friday, November 4 (after an initial opening date listed as Friday, October 28).


PetWellClinic, which recently opened at 11802 Rockville Pike Suite D in Pike & Rose, will be having its grand opening party and pet costume contest on Saturday, October 29th from 3pm-5pm. This Saturday, October 29, the Kensington Volunteer Fire Department and the Town of Kensington are once again hosting their annual Halloween Movie Night. “Hotel Transylvania” will be shown at dusk in St. Paul Park on the big screen. Costumes are encouraged for all attendees.

The Kensington Volunteer Fire Department and the Town of Kensington will have refreshments available for purchase in the Park, including pizza, popcorn, and candy.


Montgomery County Police are investigating a report of shots fired that occurred Sunday night in the Pike & Rose area of North Bethesda.  According to MCPD,  “At approximately 9:16 p.m., on Sunday, October 23, 2022, Montgomery County Police responded to the 11500 block of Old Georgetown Rd for a report of shots fired. No injuries were reported and there are no suspects in custody. This is an active and ongoing investigation.”

Dick’s Warehouse Sale is an outlet/warehouse version of Dick’s Sporting Goods that offers merchandise at clearance prices. Per Rockville City Police 10/23/22 – 9:45 pm: On October 23, 2022 shortly before 6:00 p.m. the Rockville City Police Department responded to a shooting on the Unity Bridge in the 100 block of Frederick Ave. An adult male victim was located with a gunshot wound, he was transported to a local hospital where he is expected to survive.

The preliminary investigation has revealed the suspect in the shooting is an African American male wearing all black clothing and a black mask. The suspect left the area in a blue Mazda passenger car immediately following the incident.
