Recently, we were invited to a tasting event at Poyoteca, located in Fallsgrove. Poyoteca is best known for their Peruvian Chicken (cooked using a secret family recipe), but they also have a wide range of side dishes, salads, sandwiches, burritos, desserts, and more on their menu.
The Fallsgrove location of Poyoteca opened up for the first time in the midst of COVID, back in July. The two owners, Fernando and Juan Sanchez, are brothers who were born in Peru, but raised in Rockville. They currently have one other Poyoteca location in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor.

Crumbl Cookies Opening 10/1 in Rockville
Back in July, we let you know that Crumbl Cookies was planning to open in Rockville’s Federal Plaza. We just learned that their grand opening will be on Thursday 10/1 (next week). They will be offering free cookies on their “Free Cookie Day” on Friday, October 2nd.
Last Friday a 60 year old man with non-verbal autism was reported missing in Rockville.
An hour later an officer searching the area was flagged down by a resident who saw the man walking on Twinbrook Pkwy/Baltimore Rd.
Over the weekend USA TODAY reported that home-goods retailer Bed Bath & Beyond revealed 63 stores that will be closing by the end of 2020. The list included three Maryland locations, including the store located in Gaithersburg Square.
Bed Bath & Beyond has two other MoCo locations, in Germantown and Rockville, that will remain open for now. Earlier this summer the company revealed that it will close 200 of its stores in the next two years, so this may just be the first round of closures.
Montgomery County has the highest population out of all Maryland counties.

Grill Kabob Making Some Progress at Research Row
Back in January we let you know that the fast-casual restaurant would be coming to Research Row (1409 Research Blvd). This week we checked in and saw that some progress has been made with the construction of The new location.
Soulfull Cafe, powered by Dawson’s Market, will have its socially distanced ribbon cutting on Wednesday, September 16th at 11:15am.
