UPDATE: This closure has been delayed until August 30.
Beginning Monday, August 30, Westbound Randolph Road will be closed between Parklawn Drive and Nebel Street. The closure is expected to last approximately six months, meaning that section of Randolph Road likely won’t reopen until spring 2022.
Kogi Asian Grill in Gaithersburg will hold its grand opening on Friday, August 13th from 12pm-2pm.
It’s one of the new additions to Gaithersburg Square and is located next to the newly opened Marshalls (formerly Bed Bath & Beyond)..

Jimmie Cone in Damascus Burglarized
Jimmie Cone at 26420 Ridge Road in Damascus posted online today that their store had been burglarized in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Yirasai Sushi will be moving to Park Potomac, according to restaurant management.
Earlier today we spoke with a manager at Yirasai Sushi, located at 5110 Ridgefield Road in the Westwood Shipping Center in Bethesda, who told us that the tentative plan is to close to the current location later this year as they prepare to move in to the old Elevation Burger spot in Park Potomac that became available last month.
New Marshalls in Gaithersburg Square Opens This Thursday
The grand opening for the new Marshalls at 558 N. Frederick Ave in Gaithersburg is this Thursday, August 5th.
It has been over a year and a half since we let you know that La Gula Mexicana would be taking over the old Agrodolce spot in the Milestone Center in Germantown (21030 Frederick Rd Suite J).
In our last update this past March, there wasn’t much progress in the interior, but we stopped by and things have definitely picked up (photos available below). It looks like the interior is nearly complete and the finishing touches were being placed on the outdoor patio.
Chef Lee’s Element Coming Soon to Firstfield Shopping Center in Gaithersburg
Signage was just put up for Chef Lee’s Element at 520 Quince Orchard Rd in Gaithersburg, the former location of JDS Shanghai.
NIPS Juicehouse in Silver Spring is Now Open
NIPS Juicehouse (SPIN spelled backwards) announced on their social media accounts that they are holding their soft opening this weekend.
Back in December of 2019, we learned that Frank Pepe’s would be opening its first Maryland pizzeria right here in MoCo.
After many delays we have learned that the restaurant is back on track to open, as they currently have a hearing to sell beer and wine scheduled for 10am on September 2nd.
Back in January we let you know that Berries & Bowls, the “Superfood Cafe” would open its second location at 4961 Elm St. in Bethesda– the former home of Spring Mill Bread Co.
Signage is now up and construction is finishing up, as Berries & Bowls hopes to open its new location in the first half of August.
